What shipped

asambl now syncs with Google Calendar in both directions. Events you create in asambl (training sessions, focus time, social commitments, deadlines) automatically appear in Google Calendar. And your existing Google events sync into asambl every fifteen minutes, so your calendar view and planning agents always know what is already on your schedule.

For calendar apps that are not Google Calendar, you can export your plan as a standard .ics file and import it wherever you like.

How it works

  • Connect your Google account from Settings > Integrations, which opens a consent screen in your browser
  • Once connected, events sync automatically in both directions with no manual push needed
  • Google events appear in your asambl calendar view, colour-coded by category
  • Events you create or update in asambl flow back to a dedicated asambl calendar in Google that you can toggle on or off
  • Prefer another app? Use Export as .ics instead and import the file manually

Privacy and permissions

The integration requests full calendar access so asambl can read your events and create new ones. Your OAuth tokens are stored in your operating system keychain and never leave your machine. All your personal data stays on your computer. If you disconnect, asambl deletes all synced events and tokens immediately.

Why this matters

Planning in asambl is only useful if it connects to where you actually look during the week. For most people, that is their calendar. Two-way sync means your plan stays current with reality, and your agents can draft around existing commitments instead of clashing with them.

What is next

We are working on smarter scheduling so agents can automatically avoid conflicts and suggest optimal time slots based on your existing commitments, energy patterns, and preferences.
